The half-up
For Lucy Boynton’s perfectly undone ‘do, spray dry hair all over with a texturising spray (we love Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray) then blast with a hair dryer for 30 seconds. Part strands in the center. Using your fingers, comb the front and top sections of hair back into a ponytail. Tie with an elastic and finish with a bow.
The loose plait
Romance is reborn with soft, tumbling plaits. Braid a three-strand plait into your mid-lengths and secure with an elastic. Using your fingers, pinch and pull segments of hair from the beginning of the plait and around the back of the head, to loosen tendrils and create sexy softness.
The segmented ponytail
Add some fashion cred to your classic ponytail by tying elastics in segments down the lengths of your strands. Get creative with your ties and play with colour or incorporate metallics.
The double bun
Elegant at the front and playful at the back, try Margot Robbie's double buns for a contemporary take on an updo. Part hair down the center and into two sections. Take one segment and twist into a low bun and secure with pins, not elastics, to keep the twists looking slightly undone. Repeat for the other side.

Textured ponytail
The key to mastering this simple style is volume and texture. Prime wet hair with a mousse such as, Moroccanoil Volumising Mousse, then blast dry with a hairdyer focusing on the roots to create lift and volume. Tong in some bends into mid-lengths to create extra movement. Using a styling brush (Denman D3 Medium Classic Styling Brush will do the trick) pull strands back into a ponytail and secure with an elastic. Leave any bumps that may pop up; they only add texture.
